POSITION OUTLINE
The YEET Project General Assistant is responsible to the Project and Youth Coordinator for maintaining cleanliness and order within the Project administration offices and other non-residential facilities. In addition, he or she provides refreshments for visitors, as well as for staff at meetings and tea breaks.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that offices (including toilets, kitchen, and stores) are always kept neat, tidy and hygienically clean.
- Ensure that other non-residential facilities are always kept neat, tidy and hygienically clean.
- Make tea and coffee for meetings and staff tea breaks. Assist in the preparation of light snacks for certain meetings and special occasions.
- Maintain all cleaning and kitchen equipment in good condition.
- Inform the Administrator of cleaning material and tea making requirements in advance of needing them, so as not to run short.
- Prepare refreshments for visitors, as requested by management.
- Prepare the guest house for the arrival of visitors, maintain its cleanliness during their stay, and clean it again on their departure.
- Offer help and support to Project Staff whenever possible.
- Act as Project receptionist if the need arises.
- Take an active part in Project activities and events.
- Present a caring and understanding figure to the Youth.
- Carry out all duties in an exemplary manner.
- Become familiar with the background, philosophy, principles, policies and structure of the SOS organisation.
- Understand the different roles of the SOS staff team members.
- Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties, as assigned by supervisor.
- Partake and take a lead in fundraising activities.

JOB SPECIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
COSC with pass in English and Sesotho, and work experience of at least one year as General or Office Assistant.
